While I generally prefer not to do announcement posts for minor app updates, I'm doing one labeled "armory" but it's really for the item cards. After a couple more rounds of play tests and getting to finally test some items that hadn't previously been tested I wanted to take a closer look at all the math and numbers for all the items. Some of the items were too easy to get for how powerful they were or vice versa. I needed a way to make them more balanced so I created a spreadsheet which you are welcome to check out if you're interested in such things.

So what I was looking at was the potential max damage, range, splash, recovery, armor, or "other" type of bonus against the stat requirements and any other negatives to having the item. Negatives would be like "requires and extra action", or "- to movement", that sort of thing. Since Load is applied to a character in 10s unlike the other stat requirements, it doesn't make sense for "1 Load" to have the same negative value as "1 Ranged" but setting it to 0.1 the value of the other stats feels too little as it would require everything to be really heavy and you would barely be able to equip anything even if you maxed out your Load stat. In the end I settled on 0.5 and while this ends up making a lot of the items way lighter than they were before, what you can actually equip with the minimum Load stat feels pretty good; while a maxed Load stat will let you walk around like a mobile armory which fits thematically if you had maxxed load, right?

I assume that I'm the only one that's actually used the Armory to create characters so this only really affects me... but IF you did setup your own custom characters you should probably take a look again at what all you have equiped. Some of my characters no have a ton of extra room to carry more stuff, while others are now WAAAY over weight limit. Things like Optical Camo got a lot heavier to balance them out while most of the weapons got lighter.

On the cardbacks, when you print them out, they now include a version number. So it's easy to tell if you're playing with the latest version of the items. I'm tempted to do individual version numbers per item but I think that's just getting too granular... So it's more of a "deck version" I suppose, so individual items or skills may not actually be updated when the version number increases. Just something to keep an eye on if it affects you.

Another little update: In the Locker Room you'll now find a new button. "Order Mini $15"! 3D prints of your custom mini have been added to the shop so if you don't have a printer of your own, I'll print it out for you 😀 I've added a number of upgrades too, like acetone smoothing, paint services, card quality.. The button says "$15" which is the full price but I'm pricing them at $10 until we're out of beta and we get a KickStarter Launched, on the shop page you'll see the sale price.
